Our Thai Foot Massage training course is based on the Traditional Thai foot massage using Thai foot sticks (available for use and purchase) as well as meta-wands to stimulate reflex points and includes a therapeutic massage routine to the legs and feet.

The Thai foot massage is a popular choice for therapists, reflexologists and complete beginners.

This traditional technique dates back over 2000 years and is still practiced by Buddhist monks today.

Elements of the course include working on ‘Sen’ lines from the Ayurvedic tradition, these reflex points are stimulated using the stick, the course also includes foot wrapping techniques.

What is a Dosha Balancing Massage?

DBM is a synchronized massaging of the body towards the direction of the movement of arterial blood.

The scientific reason for this protocol is said to be to increase the blood flow towards the most distal parts of the body and avoid overwhelming the heart through increased venous return if the massage is done towards the heart, or in other words, in the direction opposite to that of the body hair.

DBM is done using warm and beautiful herbal oil, herbal powder, herbal pastes or ghee. It is a part of the recommended routine suggested by Ayurveda.

It is used for relief of pain, stiffness and tiredness. It also forms an important part of the five Ayurvedic detoxification therapies.

DBM not only prepares the body for panchakarma, but also helps to mobilize the dosha from the periphery toward the core in order to get them eliminated through the body orifices.DBM is considered an important treatment modality for balancing the dosha.

What Does “DBM” Mean?

DBM means the “Study and Practice of a 3 tier International Massage that combines EO's with North American Massage Techniques and focuses on (and is inspired by) AYURVEDA Practice.” The Massage session itself is a warm oil, relaxing massage of the back, neck, shoulders and arms.
